It was never meant to be. What we call a standard deck is one of the oldest esoteric calendar systems on earth, so precisely constructed that its mathematics mirror the structure of a year itself:

• Diamonds are here to discover worth — what is truly valuable, what deserves the cost, and how to build a life aligned with what genuinely matters rather than what merely glitters.

• Clubs are here to think, build, and do. Curiosity is their engine. The work is to use the mind fully — not just cleverly, but in service of something real.

• Spades are here to go deeper into themselves — to become physically, emotionally, and spiritually stronger and more capable. When a Spades card does that inner work, life begins moving with them rather than against them.

The numbers carry their own layer of meaning. On a beginning, general level some meanings are given below. These cards always need to be interpreted relevant to what position they are in within the full life spread. • Aces hold the energy of new beginnings and desire — the birth of something.

• Sevens bring the most mystical challenge: a test of the soul that, if met, becomes a spiritual victory; endings.

• Eights hold power and the deep inner work required to use it well.

• Nines carry completion and the demand for selfless giving; disappointments.

• Tens represent the full expression of the suit’s potential.

Most people sense there is a pattern to their lives.

The same relationship appears in different forms. The same conflict returns. The same fears, longings, disappointments, and questions arrive wearing different faces.

Why does this keep happening? Why do some lessons seem to follow us for decades? Why do certain people change our lives while others barely leave a mark? And why, despite all our efforts, do we sometimes feel we are living the wrong life, or the right life badly?

Most approaches offer pieces of the puzzle. Personality tests provide language. Self-help provides strategies. Therapy provides insight. But few systems attempt to answer a deeper question: what was this particular life designed to teach you?

That is what Soul Contracts is about.

After a difficult year now being behind me, I am back to writing more regular.

I’m working on a reference book that will be published on Kindle for ALL of the 52 Birthcards in which I synthesize all the sources out there along with my depth psychological background. The most important thing this Birthcard tells you is your life’s purpose in this lifetime; what it is “time” for you to do in this life.

If you are interested in your soul contract, doing shadow work, personal growth, understand relationship pattern, etc. this is an invaluable tool.

First step is finding what card governs your day so a chart is posted here. Also posted is the frequencies of each card. There are some cards that govern up to 12 days a year and a few in which appear only once in a year.

Article will follow giving the explanation of this ancient system; but this is a start for now. In studying the esoteric for 35 years it is this system that I use all the time for insight into self and others. Once we learn about ourselves and understand the purpose and meaning of our life, then we can use this system to understand what the upcoming year might have in store for us.
